Elaine G. Ellwein, age 88, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Mitchell, died December 2, 2006 at Avera McKennan Hospital. Funeral services will be Tuesday December 5, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Visitation with the family present will be 1 hour prior to the service at the Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Elaine G. Ellwein was born on February 16, 1918, to William and Sarah (Buck) Gordon at Traer, Iowa. She graduated from Mitchell High School, Dakota Wesleyan University and received her Masters degree from the University of South Dakota. She married Clifford Ellwein March 5, 1939, at Mitchell. She was a retired Longfellow Elementary teacher. Elaine was regional president of Toastmistress International and enjoyed her travels and friendships with this organization. Her other interest were reading, knitting, traveling, crossword puzzles and her pet cats, Nica and Annie. She is survived by her children: Bill Ellwein, Spearfish, SD; Roni (Bob) Bulla, Wichita, KS; Bob (Peggy) Ellwein, Dell Rapids, SD; Roxy (Bob) Arp, Valley Springs, SD; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 1992, her parents, and two sisters, Ethyle and Eileene.
