Mary Elaine Synhorst was born on April 19, 1936 to Robert "Bud" & Hazel (Gieseman) Synhorst in White Lake, SD. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1954. On May 10, 1955 she married Andrew "Andy" Cobb. To this marriage four children were born and raised outside of Mitchell until moving to town in 1968. Elaine spent 38 years baking for Randall Foods and more recently Coborns' bakeries. After retiring in 2005, Elaine enjoyed playing cards, bingo and volunteering at the James Valley Community Center and Corn Palace. Elaine was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Auxiliary and Women of the Moose. Elaine was proud of and enjoyed spending time with her four children, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Elaine is survived by a one son, Tom Cobb, Thornton, CO; one daughter, Brenda Muhs, Winner, SD; daughter-in-laws, Lori Stekl, Dakota Dunes, SD; Yeu Sun Cobb, Wakonda, IL; sister, Joyce (Kenny) Byrd, Mitchell, SD; a brother, Bill (Linda) Synhorst, Lincoln, NE; grandchildren: Justin Muhs, Chamberlain, SD; Kendra (Phillip) Ringstmeyer, Pierre, SD; Stacey Schoenfelder, Mitchell, SD; Carly Schoenfelder, Mitchell, SD; Jennifer Cobb, Round Lake, IL ; Natalie Cobb, Honolulu, HI; and Christin Cobb, Chicago, IL; and six great grandchildren. Elaine will reunite with those who passed before her including her husband, mother, father, two brothers, Robert "Bob" and Norbert Synhorst; and sons, Jim and Doug Cobb. Her father and mother-in-law, Andrew "Andy" and Irene Cobb; brother-in-laws Ray & Leo; sister-in-laws, Ruth, Margaret & Evelyn.
