Obituary
Eileen Moke, age 88, of Mitchell died Monday, August 23, 2010 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, August 27 at Resurrection Lutheran Church with burial at St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM.
Eileen was born on October 30, 1921 in Douglas County to Wilhelm and Martha (Sperlich) Geidel. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school through the 8th grade. She was united in marriage to Walter Moke on January 21, 1942 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in rural Dimock. The couple farmed south of Mt. Vernon until Walters death in 1997. She later moved to Mitchell where she resided until her death.
She is survived by 4 children: Elaine (Wayne) Groeneweg of Mitchell; Delbert (Mary) Moke of Huron; Mary Lou (Randy) Tollefson of Mitchell; and Dale (Pam) Moke of Mitchell. 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. 1 brother Harold Geidel of Corsica.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 2 sisters LaVerna Kreth and Edna Hohn; and 1 great-grandson.
