Earlyne Hill age 78, of Mt. Vernon, died Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Prairie View Care Center in Woonsocket, SD. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday at Storla Lutheran Church in Storla, SD. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 Sunday at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Burial will be in Victor Lutheran Church Cemetery. Earlyne M. Hill was born August 19, 1932 in Davison County on the farm to Albert B. and Julia (Olson) Ruhberg. She attended Mt. Vernon schools and graduated Mt. Vernon High School in 1950. On August 19, 1951 she was united in marriage to Roger V. Hill at Victor Lutheran Church. The couple farmed and lived in Davison and Aurora Counties their entire life. Earlyne worked at the Storla Sunset Home in the laundry for 30 years before retiring. Earlyne was a member of the Storla Lutheran Church and the American Legion Aux. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and embroidering and one of her greatest pleasures were her family. Grateful for sharing her life are her husband; son Terry Hill and friend Georgia Bennett of Woonsocket, SD; grandchildren Dr. Kerri Hill of Laguna Beach, CA and Eric Hill of Sioux Falls, SD; step grandchildren Kristina (Kevin) Schlenker of Woonsocket, Kurt Larson of Sioux Falls, SD and Kadin and Kylie Schlenker of Woonsocket, SD; brother in law Gary Earl of Mt. Vernon, SD and daughter in law Kari Hill of Toronto, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Randy Dean in 2003 and sister Alberta Earl in 2006.
