Obituary

Douglas W. Lippert, age 49, of Ethan, SD died Sunday March 29, 2009 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital of an apparent heart attack. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday at First United Methodist Church with burial at 1:00 PM Grace Hill Cemetery in Tripp, SD. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the First United Methodist Church with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel.

Doug W. Lippert, son of Ammon and Clara (Vetter) Lippert, was born May 17, 1959 in Parkston, SD. He was baptized at Freedom Reformed Church. He grew up in the Tripp, SD area and received his education there. Doug graduated from Tripp High School in 1977 and then attended Mitchell VoTech for two years receiving an auto mechanics degree. He served in the South Dakota National Guard for two years stationed in Tripp, SD. Doug was employed as a mechanic at Western Chevy and then later at the Coop in Tripp.

He was united in marriage with Wanda Moysis on September 17, 1983 in Avon, SD. Doug then became employed at Palace Motors, then Iverson Chrysler and most recently at Twin City Fan.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mitchell, SD. Doug enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding his bike. He played lead guitar for several bands in the area.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Wanda Lippert, Ethan, SD; two daughters, Jessica (John) Kurtenbach, Dimock, SD and Haley Lippert, Ethan, SD; two granddaughters, Jalen and Jaya Kurtenbach, Dimock, SD; a brother-in-law, Dave (Renee) Moysis, Ethan, SD; a sister-in-law, Norma (Ron) Kisch, Salem, OR; his in-laws, Ed and Edna Moysis, Avon, SD; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Glenn and Maurice Lippert.
