Douglas Dean Doorn, 64, of Vermillion, South Dakota, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 6, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. Doug was diagnosed with cancer in May, 2017. His battle with cancer was blessedly brief, and he handled it with endurance, character and hope.

Doug's faith in the Lord, his love for family and friends, music and adventure influenced his entire life Growing up, Doug enjoyed many adventures driving truck for his family's business. Doug's dream of moving to Alaska, which was sparked when he helped his good friend move to Anchorage shortly after high school, was fulfilled when he completed his M.B.A. and moved to Ketchikan.
