Doug Nobis, age 59, of Mitchell, died May 22, 2007 at his residence. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday May 30 at Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8PM Tuesday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Doug was born October 15, 1947 in Mitchell to Ed and Joy (Youtchney) Nobis. He grew up and attended Mitchell schools. When he was younger he worked with his father at their familys taxidermy studio. He then moved on to slinging drinks at the Cactus, decorating murals on the Corn Palace, and working for Mitchell Cable. He was currently employed at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Noby loved hunting and fishing with his buddies, was an avid Nascar fan and loved animals. Most of all he enjoyed hanging out with all of his friends in their garage. He was preceded in death by his parents and his best friend Rich Chronister.
