Dorothy Toman, age 88, of Sioux City, Iowa, formerly of Mitchell, died July 19 in Sioux City. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Friday at Will Funeral Chapel with a 7:00 PM scripture reading. Burial will be in Brisbine Cemetery at Artesian. Dorothy Mae Bailey was born August 1, 1915, in Miner County, the daughter of John and Molly Mae (Nelson) Bailey. She attended grade school and high school in Carthage. She married Clarence Joseph Toman on October 16, 1936. Survivors include four sons: Jack and wife, Eileen of Mitchell; Jerry and wife, Carol of St. Augustine, Florida; Bill of Aurora, Colorado; and Dan and wife, Janelle, of Pierre, SD; three daughters, Donna Taylor and husband Tom, of Newport News, Virginia; Diane Cole and husband, Chip, of Emmet, Nebraska and Debra Kuehl and husband, Scott, of Sioux City, Iowa; fifteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; one sister, Irene Wirebaugh, of Mitchell; and one brother, Dick Bailey and wife, Kay of Mitchell; four sisters-in-law, Lila Bailey of Sioux Falls; Shirley Bailey, of Longview, Washington; Bev Bailey of California; and Ann Kolar and husband, Bob of Eastlake, Ohio; one brother-in-law, Arnold Toman of Buena Park, California. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999; six brothers, Leonard, Virgil, Karel, Don, Dale, and Bob Bailey; two sisters, Gladys Johnson and Hazel Schulz and her parents.
