Obituary
Dorothy Dot Pitts, age 89, of Mitchell, SD died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Dorothy Mertineau was born July 9, 1921 in St. Ignace, MI. She was united in marriage with Benjamin Pitts. The couple lived in Flandreau, SD then Wessington Springs, SD and finally on two different farms near Woonsocket, SD. Dorothy was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing. After Dorothys daughter Sandy died she moved to Mitchell. Dorothy has lived the last few years at Firesteel Healthcare Center.
She was a former member of the Mitchell Assembly of God Church.
Grateful for having shared her life are her three children, Robert Pitts, Sioux Fall, SD, Dan (Karla) Pitts, Mitchell, SD and Rev. Karen Duden, Wisconsin; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters; a daughter in infancy; and an grandson.
