Dorothy Houser, age 80, of Salem, formerly of Mitchell, SD, died Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Salem, SD. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, October 27, 2014 at Will Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday with a Women of the Moose service beginning at 7:00 PM. Dorothy Morrow, daughter of Frank and Dorothy (Wood) Morrow, was born May 30, 1934 in Cherokee, IA. She grew up in the Cherokee and attended school there. Dorothy was united in marriage with DeWayne Houser on November 12, 1950 in Cherokee, IA. The couple lived in Ida Grove, IA and then returned to Cherokee, IA. They made their home in Mitchell, SD for 60 years. While in Mitchell, Dorothy was employed at Bill Engels and the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word seeker games, playing cards and board games with her children. She loved to tell jokes. Dorothy was a member of the Moose Lodge. Survivors include her husband, DeWayne Houser, Sioux Falls, SD; two daughters, Doreen (Brian) Booth, Sioux Falls, SD, Rebecca (Frank) Smith, Milwaukee, WI; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a brother, Dwight (Rose) Morrow, Blair, NE She was preceded in death by her son, Steven and her siblings Robert Morrow, Meredith Morrow, Lynn Morrow, Audrey Lickiss, Wallace Morrow, Joyce Hollenbeck, Frankie Morrow, Betty Small, Roy Morrow, Dale Morrow, Donna Woodyard, Phylliss Morrow, and Coleen Weiland.
