Dorothy L. Brawford was born an identical twin July 26, 1930 to Bernard and Adeline (Hoffman) Mattheis in Ree Hights, SD. She had five sisters; Mildred, Arlene, twin sister Delores, Virginia and Adeline. Dorothy attended Mitchell High School where she participated in twirling and acrobatics graduating in 1948. She married John R. (Dick) Brawford on November 28, 1949 in Mitchell, SD. Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for 30 years. She loved to sew, read and travel and especially making memories with her family. Those who cherish her memory and celebrate her life are her three daughters Tami and husband Dick Schochenmaier of Mitchell, SD, Penni and husband Larry Pietz of Palisade, MN and Heidi and husband Brian Baldwin of Mitchell, SD; eight grandchildren Nathan (KariLee) Pietz of Juneau, AK, Eric (Heather) Richardson of Avondale, AZ, Angie (Justin) Meillier of Minneapolis MN, Kent (Lisa) Wright of Boulder, CO, Linnea Wright of Chamberlain, SD, Dustin (Katie) Wright of Seattle, WA, Cooper Baldwin of San Tan Valley, AZ and Taylor (Katie) Baldwin of Mitchell, SD; fifteen great-grandchildren, Brenden, Kassidy, Aurora, Phoenix, Jonas, Dakota, Paxton, Andre, Forrest, Annabelle, Alexandra, Kayden, Malichi, Ezra and Dominic; one sister Virginia DeJong of Aberdeen, SD. She is preceded in death by an infant son, husband, parents and four sisters.
