Donna Jean Van Den Oever, age 81, of Mitchell, SD died Friday, November 8, 2024 at the home surrounded by her family under hospice care. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, November 15, 2024 at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Aurora Reformed Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM.

Donna Jean Van Den Oever, daughter of Earl and Helen (Haines) Olson was born in Plankinton, SD on July 18, 1943. She grew up in Plankinton and graduated from Plankinton High School.

Donna was united in marriage with Kenneth Van Den Oever on June 28, 1961 at Aurora Center, SD. The couple made their home in rural Aurora Center, SD. Donna moved to Mitchell in the late 1990's. While in Mitchell, Donna was employed at Graceland Cemetery and the Daily Republic. Donna was also a Avon Sale Representative for many years.

She enjoyed baking, sewing, cooking, crocheting, and canning. Donna truly loved attending her children's and grandchildren's activities.

Donna was a member of the Aurora Reformed Church, where she taught Bible School and Catechism. She also printed the Sunday bulletins for many years.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Jerry (Lori) Van Den Oever, Wessington Springs, SD, Jody (Les) Nunez, Mitchell, SD, Jason (Linda) Van Den Oever, Marion, SD, Jill Van Den Oever, Mitchell, SD, Jamie (Jennifer) Van Den Oever, Parkston, SD; 12 grandchildren, Daniel Diede, Nicholas Diede, Andrew (Ashley) Van Den Oever, Rebeca (Ryan) Edwards, Ashley (Jonathon) Moe, Adam Van Den Oever, Matt (Jade) Nunez, Kyle (Samatha) Nunez, Zachary Goos, Courtney (Brenden) Lorenez, Casey (Hailey) Van Den Oever, Brandi (Tyler) Van Den Oever; 17 great grandchildren; her ex-husband, Ken Van Den Oever, Stickney, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Andrew Diede; a brother, Robert; a sister, Violet; and nephews, Wade, Mike and Jeff.
