Donna Mae Kramer, age 74, of Mitchell, died October 22, 2006 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday at the UCC Congregational Church in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7 PM. Burial will be in Servicemens Memorial Cemetery. Donna was born in Tripp, SD on July 23, 1932 to William and Sarah (Frey) Deutscher. She grew up on a farm three miles east of Scotland and attended country school. She attended and graduated from Scotland High School and received her teaching certificate. She taught country school for a couple of years. She married Harold Kramer on August 23, 1953, at Scotland, SD. The couple made their home in Tripp, SD and she was a homemaker and Den Mother. In 1972, they moved to Mitchell and after taking nurses training, she became employed at the Methodist Hospital as a nurses aid. She retired on May 1, 1983. Harold and Donna ran a campground in Hartford for a year and wintered in Texas for several years. Donna was a member of the UCC Church, the Legion Auxiliary, the DAV Auxiliary, VFW auxiliary, Women Fellowship at church and Sunrise Fellowship. She enjoyed needle point and crafts. She is survived by her children: Steven (Vickie) Kramer, Mitchell; Bess (Myron) Storla, Rochester, MN, Dale (Kathy) Kramer, Ashland, WI, Marvin (Anna) Kramer, Cloquet, MN, James (Jodie) Kramer, Rochester, MN; several grandchildren, and two brothers: Charlie (Myrna) Deutscher, Olivet, SD and Paul (Emily) Deutscher, Scotland, SD. She was preceded in death by her husband on October 4, 2003, her parents, and a daughter in infancy. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the UCC Congregational Church in Mitchell.
