Donna L. Johnson was born September 3, 1926 in Ida Grove, IA to Ernest and Marie (Schiernbeck) Hamann. She was baptized at the Evangelical Reformed Church March 29, 1942.

At age 21 she married Dean W. Johnson at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mt. Vernon, SD on January 5, 1947. The couple made their home in rural Plankinton, SD where they farmed for 33 years on the family farm.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church until 1972 and was currently a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Plankinton, SD. Donna was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church Ladies Aide for 30 years and a member of Ladies American Legion Mt. Vernon Auxiliary.

Donna worked at the Storla Store (Creamery) for many years and then at the Storla Sunset Nursing Home for many years. She enjoyed going camping and vacationing with her husband Dean. Donna loved watching the Minnesota Vikings NFL football games. She spent many hours doing knitting, crocheting and sewing things for her family and friends.

She is survived by four children, Michael Johnson and his wife, Jeannie, Stan Johnson and his wife, Marlene, Cindy Hoffman and her husband, Terry, all of Plankinton, SD, Linda Grams and her husband, Robert, Sturgis, SD; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean; her parents; five brothers; one sister and an infant granddaughter.

A memorial fund has been established.
