Donald Robert Tischler, age 80, of Mitchell, SD died Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Edgewood Assisted Living in Mitchell, SD. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday, December 9, 2019 at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday, December 8, 2019 at the Will Funeral Chapel.

Donald Robert Tischler, son of Michael and Julianna (Boehmer) Tischler, was born May 4, 1939 on the family farm in rural Parkston, SD. He attended country school in rural Parkston. After his schooling, Don helped on the family farm.

Don was united in marriage with Eva Mae Nordman on August 2, 1958 in Mitchell, SD. The couple made their home in Mitchell, SD. While in Mitchell, Don was employed as a truck driver for the rendering company for 29 years. He retired due to health reason in the mid 1980's. Don then began his own business known as Don's Rentals. He continued with this until 2015.

He enjoyed auctions sales and coffee with his buddies.

Don was a member of the Outcast Car Club in Mitchell with his 1979 Chevy El Camino.

Grateful for having shared his life are his three children, Dawn (Monte) Culver, Sheldon, IA, Cindy (Raymond) Dangel, Viborg, SD and Donny Tischler, Mitchell, SD; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Pat (Fred) Kobald and Janet Metz, both of Mitchell, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Peggy Metz; a brother, James Tischler; and his special friend, Marge Anderson.
