Donald Wayne Schuldt, age 89, of Mitchell, SD (formerly of Alexandria, SD) died Friday, March 27, 2020 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Private family services were held with burial at the Taylor Township Lutheran Cemetery, Rural Alexandria, SD.

Donald Wayne Schuldt, son of August and Meta (Isler) Schuldt, was born November 1, 1930 in Sherburn, MN. Their family moved to the homestead farm southeast of Alexandria, SD in 1935. He attended country school Taylor #3 until the 5 ^th grade, and finished his schooling at Emery, SD graduating from high school in 1948. Don joined the US Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1955. He attended Veteran's School for two years after his discharge. Don farmed the family farm until he retired and continued to live there until his health required home to move to Avera Brady Health and Rehab in 2019.

Don was united in marriage with his lifelong partner, Shirley Pueppke on March 29, 1959 on Easter Sunday evening.

He was a devoted Christian and life-long member of Lutheran Church Missouri Synod attending St. Martin's Lutheran Church, Alexandria, SD from 1935 until 2010 at which time he transferred his membership. While at St. Martin's he held the offices of President, Elder, Secretary, Trustee and Education Chairman. He was the Sec/Treas. for the St. Martin's Aid Association for Lutheran group for 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion and took pride in having served his country.

Don enjoyed fishing but loved telling a fishing story or any story that is. Don truly enjoyed visiting with his family and his friends, however his greatest joy was the knowledge that he was one of God's children. Don's love for God and devotion to his faith are a legacy he has passed on to his entire family and we have all been blessed because of it.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Shirley; three children, Jeff (Kathy) Schuldt, Alexandria, SD, Kim (Kirby) Schlecht, Sturgis, SD, Brian (Carla) Schuldt, Mitchell, SD; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, Justin (Meagen) Schlecht and their children, Katy, Sophy and Elijah, Amanda (Bill) Grogan and their children, William, Molly and Evelyn, Eric (Kelsey) Schuldt and their son, Gunner, Stanton (Megan) Schlecht and their children, Conrad and Calvin, Danielle (Kelly) Leyden and their son, Russell, Rachel (Adam) Terhaar and their daughter, Avery, Tiffany (Justin) Clark, Sarah (Jackson) Brown and their children, Silas and Mack, Derrick Schuldt and Kendra Schuldt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Meta; brothers and their wives, Herbert (Velma) Schuldt and Robert (Annabelle) Schuldt; a sister and her husband, Ruth (Carroll) Marquardt; an infant brother, Harold; brothers-n-law, Dennis Pueppke and Curtis Pueppke.
