Donald Arthur Norwick, age 78, of Mitchell, SD died Sunday January 20, 2008 at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at the Assembly of God Church in Mitchell with burial at Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date. Donald Arthur Norwick, son of Arthur and Velma (Morrison) Norwick, was born October 27, 1929 in Ethan, SD. He attended Worthen 2 Country School and graduated for Ethan High School. After graduation, Donald helped his father on the farm for a time before attending Christian Workers Institute in Sioux Falls, SD. Donald was united in marriage with Loretta Budd on July 12, 1950 in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple farmed near Ethan, SD until 1990 when they moved to Mitchell, SD. He was a member of the Mitchell Assembly of God Church. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Loretta Norwick, Mitchell, SD; eight children, Sherry Collins, Mitchell, SD, Beth Norwick, Mitchell, SD, Barbara Maag and her husband, Glenn, Mitchell, SD, Brian Norwick, Mitchell, SD, Gail Norwick, Mitchell, SD, Donny Norwick, Dell Rapids, SD, Bryce Norwick and his wife, Christy, Mitchell, SD, Brandon Norwick, Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; a brother, Kenneth Norwick, Denver, CO; a sister, Margaret Tobin and her husband Bob, Ethan, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to the family.
