Donald Heidinger, Jr., 73, was born on July 18, 1951, to Donald and Betty Heidinger.  Donni was one of 10 children born to the couple. He grew up in Mitchell, South Dakota and attended Mitchell High School. He moved to Des Moines, Iowa in 1973 where he continued to live until last year when he resided at Firesteel Health Center until September 19th when he went home to be with the Lord.

A visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Will Funeral Chapel.

Donni loved being a salesman, there wasn't a person he didn't know, and he could talk to anyone. He worked at several companies, one being Dawn Food Products where he sold bakery supplies, this job brought him home to Mitchell quite often. After working at Dawn, he continued to work in sales until his retirement. He had a gift for being able to fix or build anything. In his retirement, he had a lawn mower and snow blower repair business. He loved to be in his garage tinkering and rebuilding things.

He loved old cars and his Harley.  He was a member of the Tri 5 Chevy Club when he owned his 56 Chevy Show Car, he met so many people along the way that remained friends with him over the years. He was a gifted carpenter, he could build anything out of wood, cabinets, toys, decks, anything. When he needed something done around the house, he was bound and determined to do it himself. He took a lot of pride in his home and his landscaping. One of Donni's greatest joys, were his faithful dogs on his lap or in his truck going for a ride.

Donni is survived by his children, David King, Daniel King, and Lisa (David) Olson. 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Dan Jo (Ann) Heidinger, Jean Keith, Perry (Rachael) Heidinger, Cherron (John) Foster, Becky Langford, Gaye Heidinger, Pamela Heidinger and Doug (Tracy) Heidinger; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, younger brother, David and granddaughter, Taylor.
