Obituary

Dolores Wegehaupt age 76, of Mitchell, died Monday, August 8, 2011 at her home under hospice care. Funeral services will 10:30 AM Friday at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Mitchell. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Mitchell. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Thursday evening with a prayer service at 7 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel. She was born August 21, 1934 at Twin Falls, ID, to Ernest and Ella (Eden) Reinke. Dolores was baptized at Clover Trinity Lutheran Church and attended Lutheran schools at Clover and Buhl, ID. Dolores graduated from Buhl High School and worked four years in an insurance/accounting office. On August 19, 1955 she married Adolph Wegehaupt at St. John's Lutheran Church in Buhl, ID. They lived in Idaho for four years before moving to Freeman, SD in 1959. They then relocated to Columbia, SD in 1964 where they lived until moving to Mitchell in 1968. Once in Mitchell they co-owned and operated Midwest Christian Supply for 29 years until retirement. During their marriage, Adolph and Dolores had four children: Lavonne Krcil, Mitchell; Mark and wife Joni, Duluth, MN; Daniel and wife Valerie, Oswego, IL and Diane McGonigle and husband Rick, Winona, MN; 7 grandchildren: Danielle, Alexandra and Mikala Krcil; Tara (Malachi) Behrens and Tyler Wegehaupt; Evan and Nathan Wegehaupt and one expected great grandchild. She is also survived by a brother, Clarence (Edna) Reinke, Byron NE, sisters Vivian (Irvin) Meyer, Spokane, WA; Rose Meier, Buhl, ID; sisters-in-laws Maureen Reinke, Linda Herrig, Alice Wegehaupt and Maxine Wegehaupt; brother-in-law, Lawrence Helling and many nieces and nephews. Dolores was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Mitchell, SD where she was active in church choirs, women's circles and held church offices. She also designed and sewed the church paraments and many banners. Dolores was an avid gardener, enjoyed sewing and crafts, and carpentry. She also spent as much time as she could with her children and grandchildren, sharing he strong faith and many talents with each of them. Dolores was preceded in death by he parents; sisters Luella and Lola, brother Orval, sister-in-law Leona and brother-in-law Leo. Also in-laws Walter, Erwin, Albert, Karl, Klara and Martin Wegehaupt, Leslie Herrig and Hilda Helling and two nephews Glen Herrig and Myron Meier.
