Diane Joan Johnson, age 64, of Mitchell, SD died February 3, 2014 at her home under hospice care. Memorial services will 11:00 AM Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Will Funeral Chapel. Diane Joan Gossar, daughter of Albert and Harriet (Fischer) Gossar, was born March 10, 1949 in Memphis, TN. Her father was serving in the US Armed Forces at was transferred to Torrance, CA where Diane attended school. She moved to Alexandria, SD in 1972 and later to Mitchell, SD in 1974. Diane was employed at Trail King and Boyd's Gun Stock. In 2005 she began her employment with AKG North American Operations Inc. working as an administrative manager. Diane continued her employment with AKG until her death. Diane was united in marriage with Jerry Johnson on May 3, 1981 in Mitchell, SD. The couple made their home in Mitchell, SD. Diane enjoyed taking care of her house plants and roses in the couple's yard. She also enjoyed site seeing in the Black Hills and loved shopping with her granddaughter. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Jerry Johnson, Mitchell, SD; her son, Michael Hauge and special friend Whitney Ray, Oklahoma City, OK; a granddaughter, Jenna Hauge, VT; special friend Ronda Christenson; her brother, Richard Gossar and his wife, Dorothy, Philadelphia, PA; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bruce Gossar. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Diane's name.
