Dennis Ruff, 82, of Mitchell, South Dakota passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.  Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell.  Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 27, 2025, also at Will Funeral Chapel.

Dennis Ruff, son of Walter and Leona (Stotz) Ruff was born August 25, 1943, in Mitchell, South Dakota.  He graduated from Mitchell High School with the class of 1961. Dennis was united in marriage to Judith Thuringer on April 28, 1979.  Denny spent the majority of his working career at Palace Motors, Mitchell Motors, Campbell Supply, and retired from Graphic Packaging.

He was an avid sports fan and win or lose loved watching the Indianapolis Colts.  The LA Dodgers current playoff run has been of great excitement and we imagine he will be enjoying a front row seat for the World Series.  He spent countless hours at Lakeview Golf Course in Mitchell and had amassed an impressive 5 holes-in-one over his years of playing golf.  Denny loved his Diet Mountain Dew and always had a secret stash of pop and snacks around that he was happy to share with his grandkids.

Left to cherish his memory are his bride, Judith; daughters, Sherry Ruff, Brenda (Josh) Kolakowski, and Tanya Ruff; eight grandchildren, Lindsay (Luke) Roach and their children, Quinn, Isaac, and Calvin; Tyler (Marin) Schoenfelder and their children, Odin and Jasper; Jennifer (Greg) Bossman and their daughter, Aspen; Katy (Connor) Forney; Logan (Taylor) Boyles; Mason and Major Ridgeway; and Jude Thuringer; brothers, Gary (Gale) Ruff and Stan (Lisa) Ruff; and his beloved cat, Lil Bit.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rodney and Allen; daughter, Nicole; son, Chris; and his in-laws.
