Deloris Tootie Jean Gossman, age 69, of Mitchell died Friday, April 22, 2005 at her home under hospice care. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM at the Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mitchell. She was born on September 30, 1935, to Mabel (Linblad) and Lawrence McEntee. She grew up on a farm near Mitchell and graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1953. She attended nursing school in Aberdeen and graduated in 1956. Deloris married Paul C. Gossman on October 4, 1958. They made their home in Mitchell and raised five children. She worked for Drs. Delaney for seventeen years. She then worked for Dr. Hockett until semi retiring in 1997. Since then she worked part time for Drs. Haley, Howe, Leland and Wagner and with the educational department of Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Paul; mother, Mabel McEntee, Mitchell; her children, Julie (Spencer) Straw, Wheaton, MN, John (Linda) Gossman, Sioux Falls, Jane (Rob) Hetland, Artesian, Jacki (Brad) Florey, Sioux Falls, JoEllen Schoenfelder, Sioux Falls; sisters: Carole (Bill) Davis, Huron and Janis McEntee, Sioux Falls; brothers: Richard (Shirley) McEntee and Stephan McEntee, all of Mitchell; 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence, June 11, 1984, and her brother, James Erick, November 28, 1946. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Mitchell Area Cancer Assistance Inc, Hospice or the Nurses Association.
