Delores Anne Thomas, age 69, of Mitchell, SD died Saturday, due to complications of the Covid 19 virus February 13, 2021 at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, February 19, 2021 at the Will Funeral Chapel.

Delores Ann (Robertson) Thomas, daughter of John and Maude "Billie" (Clark) Robertson, was born July 10, 1951 in Mitchell, SD. Her father served in the US Navy so Delores grew up and attended school in several places. These places include Virginia Beach, VA, Rhode Island, Rabat Morraco, and Carthage, SD while her father was stationed overseas. In 1964 the family moved back to Mitchell and Delores graduated from Mitchell High School in 1969.

She was united in marriage with James Thomas Jr. on July 26, 1969 in Mitchell, SD. The couple lived in Rapid City for 13 years and Denver, CO for 30 years. While living in Denver, Delores was employed at Wells Fargo Bank retiring after 20 years of service with the bank. In May of 2012 the family moved to Mitchell to be close to Delores's family.

Delores enjoyed gardening, and spending time with her family. Her family was the most important thing in her life. Delores will always be remembered by the people she met as a gentle, gracious and sweetheart of a lady.

She was a former member of Light of the World Roman Catholic Church in Littleton, CO.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, James Thomas Jr., Mitchell, SD; her daughter, Deanna Thomas, Mitchell, SD; a son, James A. Thomas, Mitchell, SD; her brother, John (Linda) Robertson, Alexandria, SD; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Susan Marie Schumm and Barbara Jean Mendenhall.
