Obituary

Della Mae Egeland Vitaska was born on April 21, 1917 in Mitchell, SD to Jasper and Sarah (Swensen) Egeland. After graduating from Mitchell High School, she left the state to attend & graduate from beauty

school in Chicago, Illinois. In Chicago she met & married Charles F. Vitaska on December 11, 1938.They made their home in the Chicago area until 1993.

Returning to Mitchell for their retirement years & remodeling their home here kept them busy. Crafting, painting & wall papering was Della's true talent! Painting, pottery & a passion for friends were a few of her favorite things. She was a crafty lady! As a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Della additionally attended their social events.

After her husband's death in February, 2007 - Della lived alone. Della managed her personal and business affairs. In February 2017 she moved to Firesteel Healthcare Center where she lived for the following few months. She would have been 100 years young on her April 21, 2017 birthday!

Survivors are: son, Charles Vitaska, and wife Brenda of Lone Tree, Colorado: two grandchildren, Matthew Vitaska and Sara Shelton; two great grandchildren, Jack and Lena Shelton. A daughter-in-law, Dianne, Houston, Texas and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Don, and son, Daryll Vitaska.
