Debrah Celine Schuldt was born December 5, 1954 in Scotland, SD to LeRoy and Valeria (Schuh) Schaeffer. Deb grew up in Menno, SD where she attended all 12 years of schooling. After graduating from Menno High School, Deb worked at Gurney's Seed Company of Yankton, SD. After leaving there, Deb went to work for Vern and Wilma Liebel who owned the beer gardens in Menno.
While working there she met the love of her life, Terry Schuldt, who was brought down there one night for eating and drinking. It was her cousin Milo Schaeffer who was instrumental in this act and later became Terry's best man at their wedding. Deb and Terry dated for a short time as Terry enlisted in the United States Navy. In 1973, during the summer, the ship Terry was serving on was moored across from the ship his dad served on during WWII. The U.S.S Dixie AD-14 was having a ship reunion that summer so Terry's parents took Deb along with them and flew out to San Diego, CA and had a little time with Terry while they were there. Deb got engaged in the summer of 1974 when Terry was discharged from active duty. They were married on November 16, 1974 at the Salem Reformed Church in Menno. It was at this church where Deb was baptized and confirmed.
They settled down on the same farm Terry's parents were living to help out. While living there, four children were born. Their little girl, second born, passed away at only 6 hours old in 1976. After Terry's dad passed away in 1979, talk was made about leaving the farm. A farm sale was conducted in 1983 and Deb and Terry moved to Plankinton, SD. Deb continued to raise her boys as Terry had outside employment in Mitchell, SD. This employment did not work out well for the family and in the fall of 1987, Terry became employed at the Aurora County Hwy Dept. this employment meant moving to Storla, SD where Deb was employed at the Storla nursing home. She became an CNA and worked there until 1999 when they moved back to Plankinton. She worked at the home a little over 11 years. Back in Plankinton, Deb worked for a short time at the Coffee Cup Fuel Stop; later working at Helping Hands.
If there weren't enough things going on in their lives, God gave them another challenge; Deb and Terry became the guardians of their first grandson, Joseph, in July of 2008. Joseph was 15 months of age. Thinking one was enough at their age, God said, no I am giving you 2 more and these are going to be twins. Deb and Terry adopted John and Desiree in July 2010. They are now raising their second family. Deb quit all outside activities and went back to raising her family. While doing all of this, Deb found time to help at the V.F.W. Auxiliary in her early marriage. She became a lifetime member of the Aux. She was also a member of the Prairie's Edge Methodist Church in Stickney.
Deb loved many things; Jesus, her family as well as camping at Hart Ranch in the Black Hills.
