David Eugene Wilhelms died November 20, 2019 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD

Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Will Funeral Chapel.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be at 10:30 Friday, August 7, 2020 at Graceland Cemetery

David was born November 14, 1955 to Delbert and Anita (Herbst) Wilhelms.  He lived on the family farm North of Mitchell until 1966 when he entered group homes.

His zest for life and Jesus was infectious. David loved to sing and his favorite song was "Jesus Loves Me".  David lived in the present and met every challenge in life with a smile.  Until his final illness, David resided at Lifequest in Mitchell.

His family would like to thank Lifequest and the Dougherty Hospice House for their compassionate care.

He is survived by his brothers; Randy (Beth) Wilhelms, Utica, SD, David (Suz) Dennis, Keystone, SD, and Mark (Sharla) Dennis, Dell Rapids, SD, sisters; Lynette (Dave) Stemper, Murfreesboro, TN and Jodie (Bruce) McClure, Keystone, SD.  He is also survived by nephews and nieces; Matthew and Jared Wilhelms, Danielle (Dennis) Haldeen, Kai Dennis, Stephanie, Noah, and Maxwell Dennis, Ryan and Ben Stemper, Joy (McClure) Mueller, Jacob McClure and numerous great nephews and nieces.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Anita, step mother Wanda (Amick) Wilhelms, grandparents, William and Mary (Dryer) Wilhelms and Ernest and Ella (Wegehaupt) Herbst.
