David Wenz, 66, of Letcher, SD passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at his residence. A graveside service will be at 1:00 PM Friday, October 13, 2023 at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Huron, SD.  A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 PM, Friday October 13 at Crossroads Hotel and Event Center in Huron, 100 4th Street SW in Huron. Funeral arrangements in the care of Will Funeral Chapel.

David was born in Huron, SD on November 18, 1956 to Walter and Darlene (Phinney) Wenz. He attended and graduated from Letcher Highschool. After school David worked at the grain elevator in Letcher, then at ABC Tractor Salvage in Letcher. He then was employed at Trail King in Mitchell for over 30 years and was working there until his death.

He was an outdoors man; he enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and riding his four-wheeler. He also loved and owned several Labrador retrievers through the years.

David is survived by his siblings; Dean (Lorra) Wenz of Colorado, Todd Wenz of South Dakota, Teri (Mark) Dyar of South Dakota, nephews; Bob Dyar, Wyman Wenz, Caleb (Karli) Wenz, Coleton (Emily) Wenz, Dustin Wenz, great nephew, Bentley Wenz and great niece, Brielle Wenz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Rodney Wenz.
