David Dave Larson, 87, of Wessington Springs, formerly of White Lake, died January 9, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be prior to the service at the Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Plankinton Cemetery with Masonic Rites. He was born April 24, 1918 at Ethan, SD to Charles and Lena (Meyer) Larson. He lived with his parents on a ranch in the Reliance area. In 1925, his parents and brother died in an automobile accident and he was raised by various relatives. He married Ada Moore on April 7, 1940 and they made their home on a farm north of Plankinton. He herded sheep in the Gann Valley area and the following year they were hurt in a house fire that destroyed all their possessions and nearly their lives. After months of recuperation, they moved into a small house northwest of Plankinton, where they farmed and raised livestock. In 1945, they moved to Kimball, working for other people and went into their own business selling light plants and wiring to rural areas and doing the installation. They moved from Kimball to White Lake in 1951 and farmed until 1962. They then started the Larson Feed Service and he retired in 1984. David had attended CCC camp in the Black Hills and was a 50 year Mason. He had been a resident of the Storla Nursing Home and Weskota Manor for the past 11 years. He is survived by his daughters, Gloria Cudmore and husband, Gerald, Castlewood, SD; and Eileen Hohn and husband, Dennis of Plankinton; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Hawkinson, Sioux Falls; Darren (Carla) Hohn, Mitchell and Dustin (Keara) Hohn, Plankinton; two great grandchildren, Emma Marie Hohn and Austin Dennis Hohn both of Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, in 1995, six brothers, two sisters and two grandsons, Terry Cudmore and Marty Cudmore.
