David Lee Kost, age 57, of Mitchell, SD died Saturday at his home from an apparent heart attack. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday July 26, 2012 at Will Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Dave Lee Kost, son of Erwin and Leona (Friederich) Kost, was born February 24, 1955 in Parkston, SD. He was raised on the family farm in Freeman, SD and attended Kapsh District 48 School and then graduated from Freeman High School, class of 1973. Dave was united in marriage with Annette Hollmann on February 7, 1992 in Mitchell, SD. The couple made their home in Mitchell, SD. Dave first worked for Tri State Candy & Tobacco, then Unclaimed Freight Furniture when he first moved to Mitchell. Most recently Dave worked at Palace Cleaners for the last 10 years. He enjoyed playing cards, spending time with his family for holidays and getting together with his many special friends. Everyone who knew Dave, knew him as a man who loved sports and family. His nieces and nephews were very important in his life and he tried hard to keep up on what they were doing. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Annette Kost, Mitchell, SD; his parents, Erwin and Leona Kost, Parkston, SD; his sister, Diane (Orlyn) Olfert, Madison, SD and their children, Patrick, Tyler, Kristina and her husband, Colin, and Brittney; his brother, Kelly (Catina) Kost, Mitchell, SD and their son, Jacob; many loved aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
