David Cain, age 58, of Mitchell, died July 20, 2005, at Sioux Valley Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Wesleyan Church in Mitchell. Visitation will be Friday at the Wesleyan Church from 6-8 PM. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel. He was born March 3, 1947, at Mitchell to Millard and Goldien (Mueller) Cain. He attended school in Mitchell and worked at Mitchell Packing, Dean Packing, South Dakota Concrete and the Milwaukee Railroad. He then owned and operated Cains Trucking. David married Dianna Sonne on April 5, 1969, at Mitchell. For the past several years, he was employed by McLaughlin and Schulz Trucking Inc. of Marshall, MN. He enjoyed working outside and visiting with his many friends. He always had to have KXRB radio station tuned in to enjoy good ol country music. He was very quick witted and always loved to give someone a bad time. He enjoyed time with his family, and his grandchildren meant the world to him. He is survived by his wife, Dianna, of Mitchell; daughters, Brenda Cain, Mitchell and Tonya Cain (Fred Hantke) of Hartford, SD; brother, Jerry Cain of Mitchell; sisters: Jeanette Baas, Mitchell, Linda (Louis) Cooper, North Platte, Nebraska, Laurel (Ed) Osborne, Sioux Falls, and Marlene Wright, North Platte, Nebraska. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Melissa Cain, Hailey Hantke, and Cody and Miranda Van Thuyne and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Roger Cain, sister, Glenda Cain and brother-in-law, Calvin Sonne.
