Daryl was born March 26, 1960 to LuVern and LaVerna (Geidel) Kreth in Parkston, SD. He attended Metzgerville country school before graduating from Mount Vernon High School. He was married for a short time and in that time was blessed with four daughters. He spent his life on the farm and had to make sure the farm was going to be taken care of before he passed.
Daryl enjoyed hunting with his children and in-laws, often leaving the season with many stories to be shared later. But nothing compared to his hosting 4th of July. He would often have everyone out, family and friends, and put on a large display of fireworks. He made it the most spectacular firework show around, ending with family stories for his children. He made anyone that showed up feel welcomed and included in the festivities.
He also loved watching local football and basketball games, often recounting the games with family. He enjoyed relaxing on the porch, watching the hotdog eating contest, and yelling for his favorite football team, the Minnesota Vikings. Watching the Vikings also included Lola singing the Vikings fight song in her hand made Vikings attire (thanks Jess). He also participated in a family fantasy football league that his children would never hear the end of.
Grateful for having shared his life are his daughters; Holly (Danny) Richardson, Heather (Zach) Tennison, Tammy Kreth, Jessica (Peter) Weber, his sister, Jerilyn (Floyd) Muntefering, grandchildren; Misha, Gage, Eleanor, Summer, Oaklyn, Thielen, Kaden, Kail, Krew, Camden, and Ryker; and his best friend, Lola.
He was preceded in death by his parents LuVern and LaVerna Kreth, sisters Carol Johnson and Joyce Ackman, grandchildren Everett and Emmett Richardson.
