Daniel P. Wire, age 48, of Sioux Falls, (formerly of Mitchell, SD) died Sunday January 8, 2012 at Avera McKennan Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday January 13, 2012 at Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Artesian, SD. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday January 12, 2012 at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Daniel P. Wire, son of Donald "Bud" Wire and Beverly (Peer) Wire, was born June 28, 1963 in Mitchell, SD. He grew up and attended school in Mitchell, graduating from Mitchell High School. At the age of 10, Daniel fell off a horse and triggered his epileptic seizures to begin. After he graduated high school he became a client of LifeQuest in Mitchell for several years. On February 1, 2008 Daniel moved to Sioux Falls and began receiving services from South Dakota Achieve. While in Sioux Fall he made his home at the Lewis House. Daniel loved the outdoors, fishing and horses. He loved his job and was very self-sufficient. Daniel's seizures took something away from him, but also gave Daniel a special gift. He knew no boundaries, he just was Daniel. He is survived by his mother, Beverly Wire, Mitchell, SD; two brothers, Laverne "Dick" Wire and his wife, Carol, Madison, SD, Ronald "Butch" Wire and his wife, Mary, Pierre, SD; a sister, Colleen Bouman and her husband, Bob, White River, SD; five nieces, Heather, Tasha, Angie, Amy and Kristen; five nephews, Jared, Brad, Justin, Casey and Dustin. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Wire; and his twin brother, David Wire. A memorial fund has been established in Dan's name.
