Obituary

Corrine Caroline Jorgensen was born September 4, 1921 in Yankton County, SD to Johannes and Nora (Sorensen) Jorgensen. She was baptized on September 19, 1921 and confirmed July 21, 1935 in the Lutheran faith.

Corrine graduated from Mt.Vernon High School in 1939 and from the teaching certificate program at Dakota Wesleyan University in 1941. She taught in rural Aurora County and Hopper Consolidated. On April 2, 1944 she married Walter Max Carl Deinert. They resided on the Deinert farm east of Mt.Vernon. Walter passed away on June 6, 1971. She continued to live and farm with her sons until moving to Mitchell in 1981. In December 2010 she moved to Avera Brady Health and Rehab.

She was a lifelong member of Salem Lutheran Church, Mt.Vernon. There she was an active member of the Salem Church Women and taught Sunday school and bible school. Corrine enjoyed counted cross-stitch, reading and doing puzzles. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.

Corrine is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Robert) Scott, Mitchell and Debra (Alan) Zens, Mitchell; three sons: Dennis (Linda) Deinert, Mitchell, Ronald (Patricia) Deinert, Mt.Vernon and David (Connie) Deinert, Mt. Vernon. Twelve grandsons; two granddaughters, five great-grandchildren; one sister Fern (C.W.) Jones, Mt. Vernon, two sister-in-laws Mildred Jorgensen, Mitchell and Ruth Deinert, Mt. Vernon; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, an infant twin sister, Lorene; two brothers, Clayton and Richard-Dean; two sister-in-laws, Minnie Smith and Lorraine Deinert; three brother-in-laws: Herman Deinert, Ernst Deinert, and Leroy Smith and one great-granddaughter, Elle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Salem Lutheran Church of Mt.Vernon.
