Corinne Hauge, age 78, of Mitchell died Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Prairie View Care Center in Woonsocket. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at First Lutheran Church in Mitchell, SD. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Will Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Corinne Ruth Hauge was born March 8, 1938, in Hurley, SD, to Otto and Minnie (Spaet) Luebbert. She began her schooling in Hurley, SD, the family then moved to Yankton where she graduated from Yankton High School. Corinne then attended Concordia College in Seward, NE, and received her teaching certificate. She started her teaching career as a parochial school teacher in Freeman, SD.

Corinne was united in marriage with Dennis Hauge on June 14, 1959 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Yankton, SD. The couple then made their home in Yankton. In 1963 they moved to Mitchell where Corinne was a housewife and raised their family. In 1979 she graduated from Dakota Wesleyan University with a Bachelor's Degree in Teaching. Corinne taught for 20 years at Letcher Public School before retiring.

Corinne was a member of First Lutheran Church in Mitchell.  She was involved in many church activities throughout her life, including teaching Sunday school, volunteering with the Altar Guild, delivering church bulletins, and delivering Meals on Wheels. Corinne enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning and baking.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Dennis Hauge, Mitchell, SD; two daughters, Susan (Patrick) Higgins, Fairfax Station, VA, and Laura (Shannon) Ahartz, Henderson, NV; three granddaughters, Sarah (Matt) Becker, Alexandria, VA, Emily Higgins, Arlington, VA, and Jessica Higgins, Williamsburg, VA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Luebbert; and a sister, Gertrude Polster.
