Cora Catherine Will Jones, age 90 of Mitchell, SD died Sunday August 7, 2005 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial at the Kimball Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the Will Funeral Chapel. Cora Will Jones, daughter of Jay and Florence (Jones) Will, was born April 28, 1915 on the family ranch in rural Kimball, Lyon Township. She grew up and attended country school in rural Kimball. Cora graduated from Kimball High School in 1934. Following this schooling Cora attended college at Wessington Springs and then taught country school, worked as the bookkeeper for the Defense Plant, Rozum Motor and Mitchell Concrete. She returned to teaching in numerous country schools and then ran her own Day Care for 26 years. Cora was united in marriage with Kenneth R. Jones on April 14, 1946 in Mitchell at the Methodist parsonage. The couple made their first home in Salem and one year later returned to Mitchell to live in the home that Kenny was born and raised in where they still live today. Cora was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She served on many committees and organizations, The American Legion Auxiliary, PTA, Democratic Committee person, Methodist Ladies Auxiliary, and many more. Cora shared her life with many, as well as her husband, daughter Judy Davids (Rick) Edgemont, SD, 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, one sister Hazel Fuegen (Norman) Chamberlain SD. She was preceded in death by her parents and her 2 brothers Clifford, Rolland and her sisters in law.
