Cletus "Clet" Schoenfelder, age 82, of Mitchell, SD died Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Edgewood Memory Care under hospice care. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel.

Clet Schoenfelder, son of Engelbert and Julia (Kaus) Schoenfelder, was born March 23, 1940 on a farm near Dimock, SD. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school. After his schooling, Clet continued to help on the farm.

Clet was united in marriage with Linda Courtney on April 15, 1961 in Mitchell, SD. The couple lived on a farm between Mt. Vernon and Mitchell. In the mid 1960's they moved to Mitchell, where Clet became a partner with his brother Willie at Clet's Texaco. Later Clet started his career driving truck for Scotts Supply. He logged over a million miles in his 38 years of service with Scotts Supply. He retired in 2014.

He was married to Valeria Uttecht on April 22, 2014 in Mitchell, SD.

Clet was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where he served as an usher and Eucharistic Minister.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting in early years. Clet also enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandchildren, the Kansas City Chiefs, traveling, watching westerns, and dancing with wife Linda.

Grateful for having shared his life are his children, Tim (Ann) Schoenfelder, Knoxville, TN, Tina (Ken) Lloyd, Falcon, CO, Todd (Linda) Schoenfelder, Sioux Falls, SD, Tom (Stephanie) Schoenfelder, Knoxville, TN, Troy (Katherine) Schoenfelder, Meridianville, AL, Tami (Scott Dey) Morgan, Mitchell, SD; 1 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; his siblings, Willard (Kay) Schoenfelder, Mitchell, SD, Shirley (Jerry) Albrecht, Parkston, SD, a sister-in-law, Donna Schoenfelder, Mitchell, SD; his step children, Steven (LaFey) Uttecht, Rochester, MN, Jeff (Lorinda) Uttecht, Connell, WA, Kim (Pat) Hunt, St Peters, MO, Dennis Uttecht, Sioux Falls, SD; numerous great grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Clet was preceded in death by first wife, Linda on 2/13/09; his parents; a brother, Bob; a sister, Darlene; and a brother in infancy, LeRoy; a son-in-law, Dave Morgan; and a step great granddaughter, Bella Morgan; a brother-in-law, Gerald Maeschen. His second wife, Valerie passed away on 7/3/22.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Heart and Sole Cancer Walk.
