Clarence Schultz, age 96, of Mitchell, SD died Wednesday July, 6, 2011 at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday, July 11, 2011 at First Reformed Church with burial at 1:30 PM at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Huron, SD. Visitation will one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel. Clarence Schultz was born December 8, 1914, at Salem, SD to Paul and Anna (Goedeche) Schultz. He and his two brothers lived with their grandparents after the death of his parents. He worked on the farm for several years with his grandfather. Clarence was united in marriage with Janie Walker. He farmed in the Artesian area for several years. In 1954 he moved to Plankinton where he worked as a supervisor at the State Training School, mostly on farm operations at the school. He was then united in marriage with Anna (Hoekman) Muilenburg on December 8, 1978 in Mitchell, SD. Clarence retired from the State Training School in 1984 after 30 years of service with the State of South Dakota. The couple then moved to Mitchell, SD. During his retirement he did carpentry work and other wood crafts. He helped to remodel many home in the Mitchell area. He is survived by a stepson, Arlan (Vickie) Muilenburg, Mitchell, SD; five step grandchildren; ten step great grandchildren; one step great great grandchild; a sister-in-law, Ellen Schultz, Wessington Springs, SD; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; two brothers; one stepson and one step daughter. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the First Reformed Church in Mitchell.
