Obituary

Clarence Gunsch, age 73, of Mitchell, died March 13, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 16, at the Wesleyan Church. Visitation will be held from 6-9 PM Wednesday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 8:15. Burial will be in Servicemens Memorial Cemetery with full military rites. Clarence was born June 22, 1932, at Napolean, North Dakota to Jacob and Christina (Krein) Gunsch. He grew up and attended school in Dawson, North Dakota. He served in the US Army from January, 1955 until December 1956. After his discharge from the Army he worked in Williston, ND for the Highway Dept. Clarence married Diann Mann on September 20, 1957, in Napoleon, ND. He worked for Mid-Rivers Telephone Company in Circle, Montana for twenty-three years, and then moved to Mitchell and worked at Martin Group. He was a member of the Mitchell Wesleyan Church. He was an avid Twins baseball fan. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. He enjoyed his work at Martin Group with his many friends there. He had many good years working with Kent Morris at Interstate Communications in Clear Lake, SD. He is survived by his wife, Diann; his children, Daniel Gunsch and wife, Stephanie, Sioux Falls, Cheryl Hance and husband, Kevin, Billings, MT, Kenny Gunsch and wife, Karla, and Perry Gunsch, all of Mitchell; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; brother, Edward Gunsch and wife, Pearl, Dawson, ND; and sisters, Alma Kemmet, Dawson, ND, Penny Randall and husband, Floyd, Billings, MT, Irene Wise and husband, Ralph, Bismark, ND, Anna Mittlieder, Steele, ND, Hilda Jahner and husband, Bob, Linton, ND, Lora Johnson and husband, Lyle, Bismark, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ervin, Bernard and Raymond; two sisters, Lydia Wise and Ella Lewis; one grandson, Kory Hance and one great grandson, Jamie Smelser.
