Clara Marie Letcher, age 100, of Alexandria, SD died Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Alexandria United Methodist Church, Alexandria, SD with burial at Greenhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday November 5, 2021 at the Will Funeral Chapel.

Clara Marie Letcher was born November 7 ^th , 1920 in Buffalo Center Iowa to James & Bina (Walker) Montgomery. She graduated from Swea City High School in 1938. She married Kenneth Eugene Letcher on July 7, 1939 in Buffalo Center, Iowa, the couple farmed in the Alexandria area until he retired, and they moved into Alexandria.  She worked at Green Thumb in Mitchell and the Hanson School District as a cook. She enjoyed cooking and canning for family and made many quilts for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Alexandria.

Clara is survived by her daughter Rosanne (Jim) Okeson, Gillette Wy, sons Roger (Jeanette), Kenneth Duane (Mary) both of Alexandria, Michael, Parkston, Loren (Nancy) Bettendorf Iowa. 27 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. Two daughters-in-law; Lila Letcher of Medford, OR and Suzie Letcher of White Lake. Three sisters-in-law, Vivian Montgomery of Estherville, Iowa, Bettye Montgomery of Wheaton Ill, Barbra Montgomery of Swea City Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her parents, sons James, Larry, and Robert. grandson Jeff, granddaughter Cindy Pejsa. Daughter-in-law Linda. Brothers, Harry, Edward, Floyd & Joyce, Keith & Betty, Allan and George, and sister Lucille.
