His family lived in Mitchell and Des Moines, Iowa during his school years and he graduated from Mitchell High School in 1986. Chad went on to attend college in Madison, SD. Chad's greatest love was for his family. His children, grandchildren, brother, sister, nieces, nephews, cousins, and parents were his life. Even extended relatives were called and texted on a regular basis. He never ended a conversation without saying, "I love you". Almost as much as family, was Chad's love of fishing and hunting. Chad could be found fishing on any day that it as possible for him to get to the lake, and a great many of his photos include his latest catch. In the fall he could be found hunting with his father and brother and had a trophy room in which he displayed many of his trophies.
Another passion was gardening. He had the greenest thump around and proudly sent pictures of his garden and harvest to all his loved ones. When he wasn't fishing in the summer months he could be found in his beloved garden.
Chad loved life and was happy to share his home, faith, and especially garden goodies, and fishing catches with anyone. He loved his cat, Israel, and sharing many pictures of him. He enjoyed having coffee at the local coffee shop and sharing stories with those around him. He attended church and men's group at Center Point Church in Mountain Lake and spent many hours with his church family and friends.
