Celestine Sally Usher, 91, of Mitchell, died Friday, May 23, 2008, at Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the Will Funeral Chapel, with burial at American Legion Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be 6 PM to 8 PM Tuesday at the Will Funeral Chapel with a Prayer Service at 7 PM. Sally Friedrich was born December 1, 1916 to Martin and Anne (Sommer) Friedrich in Parkston, SD. She Grew up and attended school in Parkston. She attended Presentation Jr. College and graduated in 1939. She married Wayne Usher on May 10, 1939, in Parkston. The couple then moved to Mitchell, SD. Wayne then went into the service while Sally stayed in Mitchell. She was employed by the Mitchell School District Lunch Service. She also was a waitress at Sunshine and Townhouse. Sally enjoyed playing bridge, bowling golfing and loved to travel. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She is survived by two daughters, Jane (Bob) Conroy, Mitchell; and Mary Usher, Chandler, AZ; a brother, Jim Friedrich, Napome, CA; a sister, Frances Hehn, Jackson, MN; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband on December 1, 1981, two daughters in infancy, four brothers and a sister.
