Caspar was born December 22, 1929 to Frank and Eva (Meyer) Fergen in Parkston, SD.  He graduated high school then attended DWU.  In 1951 Caspar joined the Army.  He was stationed at Fort Lenard Wood, Missouri, Big Delta, Alaska; also serving during the Korean War.

Caspar married Joan Wermers on May 31, 1951.  The couple adored each other; setting a loving and beautiful example of living life as a couple. He worked at the Amour Creamery for three years and was employed with the Coca-Cola Bottling Company for 33 years as a salesman until retirement.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge and the American Legion.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and going to local sporting events.  Caspar loved to spoil his children if any of them said they liked something, especially to eat, he would have that item at his house every time they visited.  One of his biggest pleasures was watching his children and grandchildren grow up.
