Carol Kaye Morgan age 66, of Mitchell, SD died Sunday August 22, 2010 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Wednesday August 25, 2010 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 PM to 8 PM Tuesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM Tuesday. A rosary will begin at 5:30 PM Tuesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Carol Kay Stange, daughter of Harry and Wilma (Spies) Stange, was born June 30, 1944 in Wessington Springs, SD. She attended school at Lane, SD, graduating in 1962.

Carol was united in marriage with Bill Morgan on June 26, 1965 at St. Josephs church in Wessington Springs, SD. Carol was a mother of eight children and maintained the family farm near Mitchell. She spent many hours tending the animals and working in her garden. Carol and Bill enjoyed attending numerous basketball games along with becoming a second mom to a number of DWU students. They attended sporting events and other school activities of her grandchildren. Carol enjoyed family dinners, babysitting her grandchildren, baking gourmet chocolate chip and dirty cookies with her daughters and grandchildren. She also enjoyed checking the cattle on the four wheeler with Bill or their son Pat. Her husband and family were the most important thing to Carol.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Bill Morgan, Mitchell, SD; four sons, Mike (Tammy) Morgan, Pat (Karla) Morgan, Wes (Teri) Morgan, and Scott (Stacy) Morgan, all of Mitchell, SD; four daughters, Ronda (Heath) Koepsell, Canova, SD, Robin (Toby) Moody, Woonsocket, SD, Raven (Jay) Ellwein, Huron, SD and Randi (Wyatt) Haines, Omaha, NE; 21 grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Joyce (Bill) Bowar, Lincoln, NE, Ducky (Jan) Stange, Bob (Kay) Stange, Phyllis (Edward) Swenson, all of Woonsocket, Bill (Nancy) Stange, Lois Edwards, both of Letcher, SD, Judy (Dick) McQueen, White Lake, SD; sisters-in-law, Anne Stange, Freeman, SD, Margaret (Chuck) Zoss, Yankton, SD, Erma Janssen, DeSmet, SD; brother-in-law, George (Sherri) Morgan, Mitchell, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, William and Madeline Morgan; a grandson, Zachary Morgan; a brother, John Stange, and two brothers-in-law, Merle Edwards and John Janssen.
