Carol Law, age 81 of Mitchell, died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab in Mitchell. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 9 at Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed to a charity of the family's choice. Ione Carol J. Law, AKA Carol Jaye Law born November 19, 1929, in Rolette, North Dakota to Jay A. Deeter and Jona (Jennie) Deeter (McIntyre). She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Ruth A. Deeter (Davies), her son Daniel B. Law, in infancy, and her son Donald R. Law. Carol graduated from Rolette Senior High School where she was the valedictorian of her class. She continued her studies at the University of North Dakota and she planned to become a pharmacist. At the University of North Dakota, she was an active member of the Delta, Delta, Delta sorority. She married Bonar D. Law in 1948. They had six children, Douglas, Diane, Daniel, Donald, Denice and Dana. They moved to Mitchell, South Dakota, in 1964, where she spent the majority of her life. Carol was an excellent homemaker and her family fondly remembers her cinnamon rolls, bread and pastries. She was an avid golfer and was a member of the Lakeview Municipal Golf Course ladies golf league for many years. She greatly enjoyed watching professional golf tournaments on TV, as well as Twins baseball and Vikings football. Her other interests included bridge and cribbage. She belonged to various bridge groups in Mitchell. She worked at various jobs during her lifetime. She retired from Toshiba in 1991. After retirement Carol lived in Florida and Mitchell. She travelled to see her children in Florida, Virginia and Maryland. She is survived by Douglas and wife Beth, Virginia Beach, VA, Diane Law, Annapolis, MD, Denice Fox and husband Rob, Madison, SD, Dana Muck and husband Dan, Mitchell, SD, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Bonar.
