Burrdella Bell, age 78 of Mitchell, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 26 at the Salvation Army in Mitchell with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will begin 1 hour prior to the funeral service at 10:00 AM. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Will Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be directed to the Salvation Army. Burrdella Mae Bell was born on August 27, 1932 in Woonsocket, SD to Martha and Burr Decker. She was raised and educated in Woonsocket. On May 13, 1963 she married James Bell in Mitchell, SD. They had 6 children while primary focus was raising her children. She had many jobs, but her main focus was the Salvation Army. She was a unique and loving individual who will be missed greatly by her family and friends. Burrdella is survived by three sons: Larry Carr, Mitchell, SD, Steve Carr, Parkston, SD and Eddie Lutz, Dixon, MO; three daughters: Diana Lucas, Mitchell, SD, Goldie McKittrick, Mitchell, SD, Jeanette Fields, Gillette, WY. 16 Grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and infant son and daughter, 1 grandson and 1 great grandson.
