Bryan Thompson, 44, of Mitchell passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, December, 18, 2021 at Will Funeral Chapel. Visitation will begin at noon.
Bryan was born October 28, 1977 in New York. At the age of four, he was adopted by his forever parents, Paul and Beverly (Hoffman) Thompson and became a little brother to Ernie and older brother to John. He attended Mitchell Christian School; graduating in 1996. Bryan then went to Ridgewater College where he received his associates degree in Dairy Herd Management. He returned to Storla, SD after college and worked on the family dairy farm. Making friends everywhere he went, Bryan's life continued in Wisconsin, Brazil, and Gainsville, FL (Go Gators!) before returning to South Dakota in the last two years to be closer to his family.
Bryan loved to hunt, golf, and collect guns. He enjoyed going to Universal Studios and all things Star Wars. He never missed a chance to cook and share his amazing meals with his family and friends. The hardest worker in the room, he brought joy and friendship to those who knew him. His big heart was shared by many and always held a special place for his nephews and nieces. Big hugs for Uncle Bryan.
Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, Paul and Beverly, brothers, John and Ernie, nieces and nephews, and friends! Oh, so many friends!
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ernest and Arlene Thompson, maternal grandparents, Al and Fay Bitterman, Lee Hoffman and an infant brother, Wendell.
"Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.
When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation." Psalm 91
