Brian Enfield, 28, of Letcher, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, June, 7, 2008 at the Sanborn Central, in Forestburg with burial at Westlawn Cemetery in Letcher. Visitation will be from 6 PM to 8 PM Friday at the Will Funeral Chapel, in Mitchell, with a 7 PM Prayer Service. Brian James Enfield was born July 24, 1979, to James and Jolene (Lachnit) Enfield in Mitchell, SD. He grew up on a farm near Letcher, SD. He attended elementary and middle school in Letcher and graduated from Artesian-Letcher High School in 1997. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Church of Christ in Letcher. He was also a member of the Letcher Community Church. He attended Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls and graduated with a degree in Automotive Mechanics in 1999. After graduation, he worked at various automotive shops including Bobs Repair, Sears, Terry Schulte all in Sioux Falls, Just Brakes, in Denver, Colorado, and locally at Springs Auto, Palace Motors, and Putnam Truck Parts. He currently worked at Claytons Repair in Letcher and in December, 2007, he became owner of Buckshots Roadhouse. Brian was a wonderful son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He enjoyed mud racing and talked about the days when he drove his trucks Out on Work Release and Wild Thing. He truly enjoyed farming and raising cattle with his family along with hunting, fishing, and football. However, his greatest pride was his newly purchased home and running Buckshots with Grandma Shirley. When Brian was there, you could always see a smile on his face. He is survived by his parents, James and Jolene Enfield, of Letcher; a sister Teri (Tory) Smith, of Blunt; two brothers, Justin and Jon Enfield, of Letcher; a grandmother, Shirley Enfield, of Letcher; great grandmother, Ila Hylland, Woonsocket; a nephew and niece Treyton and Tavery Smith; his aunts and uncles, Angie (Enfield) McCain , Mitchell; Dave (Darla) Enfield, Woonsocket; and Peggy (Enfield) Dunn, Hampton, TN; Craig (Margaret) Lachnit and Dave (Julie) Lachnit, all of Mitchell; and Mike (Marcia) Lachnit, of Alexandria. He is survived by many cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by, three grandparents, Maynard Enfield, and Ronald and Eunice Lachnit; and cousin Melissa Lachnit.
