Brenda Sue Peyton, age 55, of Mitchell, SD died Monday, January 25, 2010 at Sanford USD Medical Center. Memorial services will be 10 AM Thursday at Will Funeral Chapel with burial in Virginia. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 AM Thursday at the Will Funeral Chapel.

Brenda Sue Jordan, daughter of Benjamin Sr. and Barbara (Carpenter) Jordan, was born September 18, 1954 in Fredericksburg, VA. She attended school in Stafford, VA and after her schooling; Brenda was employed as a CNA Nurse. Brenda was later employed at Sunshine Laundry.

Brenda was united in marriage with Willis Peyton on January 20, 1972 in Fredericksburg, VA. The couple made their home in Stafford and in 1997 they moved to Mitchell, SD. In June of 1997 a tornado destroyed their home south of Mitchell and the couple made their new home in Alexandria, SD in October of 1997. In 1999, Brenda was diagnosed with cancer and the couple later moved to Meadowlawn Plaza.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, plants, her animals and playing computer games.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Willis Peyton, Mitchell, SD; a brother, Keith Jordan, Stafford, VA; four sisters, Elizabeth (Jack) Boswell, Virginia, Nancy (Charles) Williams, Stafford, VA, Marie (Travis) Cooper, Stafford, VA, Wanda (Joseph) Kaus, Alexandria, SD; a sister-in-law, Ann (Donald) Embery, Stafford, VA; 16 nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Benjamin Jr. and Harold.
