Bonnie Jean (Heck) Dikoff-Jacobson was born July 6 th 1934 in Isabell, SD to Robert and Lorraine (Gower) Heck. At the age of 1 the whole family moved to Illinois. Bonnie contracted Polio at the age of 5 and had to learn to walk again.
Bonnie and her family moved back to South Dakota and settled in near Mobridge at the end of her 8 th grade year. Bonnie met her first love Fredrick Dikoff in 1949 he visited often that winter and they played lots of cards. Bonnies 16 th birthday was one for the books as Fred asked her to marry him, they married a few months later on November 12, 1950 in the Congregational Chrurch at Firesteel,SD and over the next years would welcome three wonderful boys into their family, Rodney, Terry and Todd. On May 12 1989 Fred passed away. Bonnie lived on the farm until when she moved to Onaka and in September of 1994 Bonnie moved to Mitchell after selling the Ranch to Rodney. Bonnie was a member of the singles club in Mitchell were she met Perry Jacobson who would be her second love. They married on June 23 rd 2007 in Mitchell at Zion Lutheran Church. They enjoyed traveling and playing cards with friends and family. Sometimes they would get a chuckle out of "Lulubell" getting stuck under the bed and having to retrieve her. On January 1, 2011 Perry passed away with Bonnie at his side. That year in April Bonnie moved to Countryside Living where she resided until her passing. Bonnie met so many wonderful people at Countryside and called them all family. She was so happy when her family would stop by to visit for a few minutes and reminisce and chat.
Bonnie liked being busy and over the years either has been a part of or volunteered with the Ladies Aid, Heartland Quilters Guild, Queen of Peace Hospital, Avera Brady Nursing Home, American Legion Auxiliary and the James Valley Senior Center where she made hundreds of hats for the needy. She was also an active member of the church where she helped with Sunday School, Bible Study and Bible School.
Bonnie loved gatherings and was the first to start to organize a gathering whether it be for family or for friends or to meet new friends. Bringing people together to laugh and enjoy life brought her much joy. She was a wonderful seamstress was always busy with one project or another. She made quilts, clothes and sewed many Carebears at one time. She was a woman full of life who made the best of every moment in her life. She was faithful to god and trusted in him to lead her in the right direction. God led her to her heavenly home where we will all meet again one day.
Bonnie is survived by her sons, Rodney (Linda) Onaka, SD, Terry (Gina) Beuhla, ND and Todd (Tina), Mitchell, SD, her Brothers Robert (Margaret) Casper, Wy and Jerry, Morris, Ill, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many other friends and family.
