Bonna Mae was born on the farm in Douglas County to Walter and Angie (Dewey) Schrank on July 11, 1926. She grew up on that farm and once graduating from high school she attended college for six months and then went on to teach at a country school for one year prior to meeting her husband.
Bonna was married to William Titze JR. on October 14, 1946 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Dimock, SD. After getting married the couple moved to the farm ten miles south of Mt. Vernon where they farmed until they retired and moved to Mitchell. While on the farm they enjoyed dancing at the dance hall in Stickney and visiting their neighbors.
Her hobbies included gardening, painting, baking, and quilting. Some of her signature foods she liked to make were her oatmeal raisin cookies, granola, and dumplings. Beyond teaching, she was a wife, homemaker, as well as a hardworking mother and grandmother.
Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter Barbara (Hamid) (Titze) Ahrar, son-in-law, David Nebelsick, nine grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William, daughter, Debra Kay Nebelsick (Titze), and brother Walter "Bud" Schrank.
